Our Thoughts:
Over the last few years we have attended many horse
sales and have found that the sellers are unhappy with the
prices they are getting for their horses and buyers feel some
of the horses are misrepresented. This makes a buyer awfully
uncomfortable buying horses at a sale; we would like to change
that. This will be the first sale we are holding; we are also
planning a mid to late July sale and a late September sale. We
feel by setting new rules and starting new programs for
screening horses before the sale, the buyer can purchase with
confidence that he or she will go home with a good sound horse
that they will enjoy for years to come. All arriving horses
will be checked to make sure there are no sick horses
spreading diseases to healthy horses. Every horse will have an
information/ evaluation sheet filled out by the owner and a
neutral party, this is to ensure the horse is what the owner
says it is and so the buyer knows what they are getting. No
horses will be rode in the ring, due to the size of the ring.
Rules:
·
Buyers paying by check
will be required to have a letter of credit from their bank.
o
This will ensure that sellers will get paid on
the same day.
·
No Loose horses
o
Everything must be halter broke including
weanlings
·
Mules and Donkeys will
also be excepted
o
Mules and Donkeys still must meet the same
requirements as horses
·
No sick, crippled, or
kill horses, nor any animals that are suspected of being
drugged.
o
A vet will be at the sale observing animals and
performing any necessary Coggins tests
·
Every horse, mule or
donkey must have a good usable halter and lead rope.
o
If the animal doesn’t have a halter and lead
rope one will be provided at the owner’s expense
·
All out of state horses
must have current negative Coggins test.
Information/ Evaluation Sheets:
When you arrive at the sale you will be
checked in, at that time you will receive the number tag for
your horse and an information/ evaluation sheet.
On this sheet you will fill in the information about
your horse and then evaluate your horse on how you think it
is. Then you will bring your horse to the area where a neutral
party will ride the horse and another neutral party will be
watching and they together will evaluate the horse on the same
sheet. Then when the horse comes into the ring the information/
evaluation sheet will be read, before the auctioneer starts
the bidding.

animal, if you no sale the animal you will forfeit that
